As a family-owned business, Chapman Windows Doors & Siding is pleased to work with Norwood, a division of West-Wood industries. For over sixty years, family-owned Norwood has been manufacturing quality wood windows and doors using lumber supplied by the family sawmill in New Brunswick, Canada. Built for the extreme cold of an Eastern Canada winter, you can be assured that Norwood windows and doors are energy-efficient and durable! Norwood's motto is “Never Ordinary” - and they live up to it. They are one of the few companies to offer a variety of woods in addition to the most commonly used pine from the family sawmill. They provide a myriad of wooden and glass window and door styles, colors and sizes. The typical casing and trim on the Norwood products is slender and proportioned to suit most building styles. You can customize for your ideal look by selecting options such as wide-board casings, sub-sills and pediments. Or, you can select from the Heritage line which is proportioned for historical properties. (Norwood has been a part of many renovations of important or historical buildings, including a project shown on PBS's This Old House.)
Most Norwood products come with a range of options in hardware, screening and dividers. Factory staining or painting is available, as is energy-saving glass. Available windows and doors include but are not limited to the following:
- French in-swing, French out-swing, and single out-swing casement windows.
- Single or double-hung windows (also available as window inserts if you want to retain your existing casing and trim).
- Sliding patio doors available in three widths and two heights; a folding door system of wood and glass that is ideal for sunrooms; and wood or steel entry doors with multiple glass, grille, color and hardware options; and French doors with aluminum clad or optional wood sills.
- The Permaglass line of fiberglass-framed windows and doors, which offers extreme durability and weather resistance and is virtually maintenance-free.
Norwood reduces environmental impact by using sustainably harvested wood, re-purposing scrap and sawdust, and recycling all cardboard, glass and paper. Norwood's windows and doors have National Fenestration Rating Council® (NFRC) ratings and many products meet ENERGY STAR® standards – which helps the environment by offering you energy savings!
With the many options Norwood offers, there is sure to be one that is right for you. Make an appointment or stop by the Chapman Windows Doors & Siding showroom to see the possibilities.
