Celebrating 30 Years of the Chapman Difference
A childhood in construction
Looking back, Chapman Windows Doors & Siding was destined to be. Mark and Mike Chapman were raised in rural Ohio. Coming from a long line of family builders, they grew up in the construction world. By the time they were teenagers, they had worked on countless construction projects, honing their craftsman skills. They moved to Chester County in the 1980s, and Mike continued working in construction, leading to his partnership with Jim.
Two men and a GMC TopKick
From the moment Mike Chapman and his father-in-law, Jim Reddecliff, worked on their very first project together, The Chapman Difference was born—30 years on, the values that we had then still underpin everything we do today.
Mike Chapman and Jim Reddecliff started off working out of a tiny home office in Jim’s house. Mike and Jim focused on providing meticulous work and outstanding customer service. They had just one truck.
This excellence helped them garner a great deal of business through word of mouth, and they became known throughout the Greater Delaware Valley area as the residential remodeling company of choice.
Three years later, Mark Chapman joined the team and worked for a year in that tiny home office before the company moved into a modest 300-square-foot office.
In 2002, after four years in the small external office and just eight years after launching, Chapman Windows Doors & Siding purchased our flagship 4,000-square-foot showroom in West Chester. The one GMC TopKick is long gone, replaced by a fleet of vehicles. In 2022, we added a second location in Wayne.
Our vision and mission have remained unchanged
In some ways, a lot has changed since 1994; in others, a lot has remained the same. While we have grown and expanded in the number of employees, services, and products, our vision and mission have remained the same. So has the Chapman Difference, a set of core values that underpin everything we do.
Another thing that has not changed is the support of our customers and local community. We are truly thankful for all the support we receive. In fact, 60% of our business comes from repeat customers and referrals.
